Kettlebells are an absolutely awesome piece of kit.
The most fun seminars i have been to as a fitness pro have been the Kettlebell Courses .
I went to the Steve Cotter seminar when he was down under in 2007 and I will be checking itout again when he is here in 2008, I also completed my kettlebell instructors course with Don Stevenson from Octogen.
Beieng a martial artist for most of my life I tend to be quite discerning when it comes to training methodologies.
Once i get an idea as to whether or not I feel the training can benefit me as a martial artist i either peg it or stick with it.
Kettlebell training when performed correctly will without a doubt skyrocket your performance.
Power, strength and anaerobic attibutes can be developed with the use of a kettlebell or 2!
The Humble Kettlebell and asociated exercise is such a versatile and useful addition to your overall fitness plans.
Kettlebell training is part of my training life and I recommend that if you are serious about gaining real world results from your exercise, you should seek out an experienced and certified instructor.

Personal Training in Sydney
Trying to do Personal Training sydney Sesisons is always a challenge outdoors when it is raining.
I try to get myself and anyone else I am training to train... rain, hail or shine. Although sometimes it can be hard.
The best way to insure a training session goes on regardless of weather is to have a contingency plan.
I have a few options that I use such as local gyms, my own gym and even my clients houses.
This is where kettlebells really shine. Becasue you dont need much space or equipment you can have a really complete workout with just a simple kettlebell.

Today I ran a few outdoor personal training sesions around sydney. Outdoor personal training is always great to do as it is awesome to be in the great outdoors.

Outdoor Personal Training Sydney training Boot Camp
I just got back from running an outdoor group training session at Sydney Olympic park.
It was a good session with the guys who have not done an outdoor session getting a bit of a shock in terms of the level if intensity you can get into a workout with no equipment.
Next week we will be on again at the same place, opposite the corner of Australia Ave and Grand Pde..the little parkland there.
I am going now to have a meeting to discuss a Personal Training Sydney Studio we will be opening soon.

Personal Training in Sydney Day Off
Today was my day off personal training myself, but i did do some training sessions or my clients this morning at the gym.
I started with a buddy session, 2 awesome guys, Matt and Shane.
Got them doing some assisted pullups, planks & 1 legged squats triplex followed by band rows, 1 leg dead lifts and side planks.
Then on to some boxing and prisoner squats. It was a good session and the guys seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Next up I had Tim who loves his Friday Boxing Session working his combos and evasive counter punching drills.
I have to go op the bathroom floor now!!

Personal Trainer Sydney - Upper Body workout
I just finished my own personal fitness training in sydney.
Upper Body resistance training was the focus of the workout.
I started with a 3 minute warmup on the crosstrainer, some stretching and foam rolling.
The next exercise was Chest Flys with a resistance band...a good gentle warm up into the workout...folowed by the plank for 60 seconds.. I repeated this mini circuit 3 times.
Next up was wide grip chinups and side planks for 60 seconds....again I did this for 3 times.
And then it was body weight dips and leg raise variatiopns...and you guessed it... repeated 3 times..
My last minicircuit was resistnce band rowing and fitball crunches. X 3 !!
I finished up with some stretches .. I have to do intervals this afternoon.
Anyway I have to go to work a I have 10am session

Personal Fitness Training Sydney - Cardio
Today my training was some steady state cardio, well not quite.
When I do cardio, which is only after I have done my intervals and resistance training for the week, I like to do change machines every 10 minutes.
Today I started on the stepper, then went to the upright bike, then a crosstrainer type machine, then the recumbent bike and finally the treadmill.
It was a pretty cool workout, although a little dull compared to using kettlebells!
I have to train again now with a friend who is into wing chun, we will be working on his speed, strength and power (what else is there?)

Sydney Peronal Trainer - 4 minute workout
If you have had a personal training or strength training session with me you would know how much I like interval training.
And one of my favourite interval training modalities is the TABATA protocol.
For those who are not familiar with the tabata method, it is usually a 4 minute interval workout (not including warm ups and cool downs).
We have a 20 second work rate and 10 second rest rate. Repeat 8 times and you have your 4 minutes.
My favourite way to do tabata is sprinting although I enjoy using a Schwinn air dyne just as much...and now that I think of it I like doing kettlebell swings as well.
It is up to you what exercise you use..although make sure you choose something challenging .
